MGM Resorts International announced that Corey Sanders, its Chief Operating Officer, will retire at the end of 2025 after more than 30 years with the company. He will continue as COO until December 31, 2025, and then serve as an advisor to the President and CEO through the end of 2026. MGM Resorts said it plans to appoint his successor later this month.

Sanders, who has been COO since 2010, currently oversees the company’s Las Vegas and regional properties along with corporate functions such as hospitality, gaming, human resources, and strategic initiatives.

Over the course of his career, he also held leadership roles as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, as well as finance and operational positions across multiple divisions, including MGM Grand, MGM Grand Resorts, and MGM MIRAGE.

“It’s impossible to overstate what Corey has meant to this company over the last 30-plus years,” said Bill Hornbuckle, President and CEO of MGM Resorts. “He has been a constant presence, providing foundational leadership for all the key moments that have defined our history – from our acquisitions of Mirage Group and Mandalay Resort Group to our regional property openings and expansions like Springfield, National Harbor, Empire City, and Borgata.”

During his time at MGM Resorts, Sanders played a central role in shaping the company’s growth strategy, guiding both large-scale acquisitions and the launch of regional developments. His leadership helped consolidate MGM’s position as the largest casino operator on the Las Vegas Strip and the state’s largest private employer.
