Poker players will soon find a new venue at Foxwoods Resort Casino, as the property opens a poker room on September 9 featuring automated sign-up kiosks, 37 high-definition televisions, and proximity to DraftKings Sportsbook kiosks, according to the casino.
The poker room will be located inside the Fox Tower and will operate Sundays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m., and Fridays through Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 a.m.
The grand opening will begin with a 10:30 a.m. ceremony, followed by live dealing at 11 a.m. Players will have the chance to participate in a $25,000 Hot Seat Giveaway from noon to 10 p.m. The promotion offers $1,000 prizes every 30 minutes throughout the day, with a final $5,000 prize awarded during the 10 p.m. drawing, according to Foxwoods.
“From day one, Foxwoods has been about energy, evolution and putting our guests first,” Foxwoods Resort Casino President and CEO Jason Guyot said. “The new poker room is a statement of pace, comfort and competition – delivering an unrivaled experience for every player.”
The Mashantucket-based casino has introduced several additions this year. Connecticut’s first Great Wolf Lodge opened on the property in May, followed by the launch of Iron Chef Morimoto's Momosan restaurant in June.
Foxwoods is also scheduled to appear in season 24 of the television series “Hell’s Kitchen,” premiering in September. The previous season was filmed in Mashantucket, and season 23 winner Kyle Timpson became the executive chef of Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen at Foxwoods in April.
