The GAT Expo CDMX trade show closed its first edition in Mexico City with positive results for its organizers, who announced that they will aim for greater attendance in 2026, seeking to establish GAT Expo as a new meeting point for the gaming industry in the region.

Following the success of its conference program, held on Wednesday, August 27, the exhibition attracted some of Mexico's largest operators yesterday, who gathered at the Expo Santa Fe convention center.

The day kicked off at 10 a.m. with the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony, led by regulatory authorities and industry leaders. The opening ceremony featured welcome remarks and special thanks from José Aníbal Aguirre, CEO of GAT Expo, who highlighted the support received from the Association of Licensees, Operators, and Suppliers of the Entertainment and Gaming Industry in Mexico (AIEJA). In this context, he highlighted the support of Miguel Ángel Ochoa and his entire team.

After the inauguration, attendees toured the exhibition hall, where 40 international companies presented their products and services to local operators.

The event started with a moderate turnout, although as the hours passed, the number of visitors increased, reaching its peak at around 8 p.m.

The feedback from exhibitors surveyed by Yogonet was generally favorable, highlighting the commercial networking opportunities generated during the day and the chance to engage in dialogue with leading local operators. The organizers confirmed that next year's event will take place at Expo Santa Fe on May 15 and 16, 2026.

In an exclusive interview with Yogonet, José Aníbal Aguirre said: “We are very happy to have been able to achieve such good results in Mexico City. We received a favorable reception from the local industry, and we are satisfied. We believe we have fulfilled our obligations to our exhibitors and sponsors.

Looking ahead to next year, the executive revealed that more exhibitors have already confirmed their participation in the event, although he refrained from giving names: "We have received confirmation from machine manufacturers for next year, and while we don’t want to reveal who they are yet, we will have at least four or five top brands of land-based casino products exhibiting here in Mexico."

Aguirre also provided an analysis of the local market: "It is very important to explain that the Mexican market is basically made up of around 30 operators in a country with a population of 150 million. Today, they are undergoing a regulatory process that, once consolidated, will surely open its doors to business not only for Mexicans, but also for foreign investment, allowing all of Latin America to find in Mexico the commercial showcase that GAT is betting on," he concluded.

With this first edition in the Mexican capital, GAT Expo CDMX reinforced its regional expansion and confirmed Mexico as a strategic market on its agenda, while preparing to welcome an even greater number of international exhibitors, operators, and manufacturers in 2026.
