DRGT and APEX power Mexico's first national symbol-driven WAP jackpot, launching across PlayCity Casino's 17 venues

In a first for Mexico’s gaming sector, a national symbol-driven wide-area progressive (WAP) jackpot has gone live, linking 128 APEX Clover Link Elements slot machines across all 17 PlayCity Casino properties. The historic installation was carried out by DR Gaming Technology (DRGT), in exclusive partnership with APEX Gaming Technology and in close collaboration with PlayCity Casino.

The launch introduces DRGT's Wide-Area Winshare system to the Mexican market, delivering the country’s largest symbol-based jackpot through technology that connects players across the network in real time. The milestone also marks the local debut of the APSL 32 cabinet, featuring three full-HD monitors, immersive lighting, and ergonomic controls, alongside the Clover Link Elements game series.

DR Gaming’s Winshare solution ensures players remain connected even when a jackpot is triggered. When the Mega Jackpot is hit at any of the 17 venues, a portion of the total prize is distributed in real time among all eligible active players, based on the size of their bets. Each location’s LED wall lights up with the win, while synchronized sound effects and digital signage announce the winner and prize details.

This real-time, participatory celebration addresses a long-standing issue with WAP jackpots: player disconnection. With the Winshare system, every jackpot becomes a nationwide event, reinforcing a sense of community among players.

DRGT’s technology supports local and wide-area jackpots simultaneously. The system is built to operate without constant server connectivity, simplifying infrastructure while giving operators control over configurations.
