Betsson secures ISO27001:2022 information security certification from Bureau Veritas

Betsson Group has obtained ISO27001:2022 certification, strengthening its information security standards across multiple markets. The group, which first achieved ISO27001:2013 certification in 2018, has maintained compliance through annual surveillance audits and full recertification every three years.

In December 2024, Betsson successfully transitioned to the latest ISO27001:2022 standard, which introduces updated control categories and enhanced requirements to address today’s complex digital environment.

In May 2025, Betsson made a strategic move by switching its certification partner from the British Assessment Bureau (BAB) to Bureau Veritas (BV). The decision was part of a wider initiative to consolidate ISO-related activities under a single global certification body, ensuring greater consistency and efficiency across jurisdictions.

The new certification applies to Betsson’s operations in Sweden, Malta, Hungary, and Estonia, covering the secure design, development, delivery, and management of its online gaming platforms. The scope spans 93 controls across four categories: organisational, people, physical, and technological.

Betsson also secured additional ISO certifications for its Italian operations in June 2025 following the transition to Bureau Veritas.
