The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has ordered 15 unlicensed online gambling operators to stop targeting state residents, marking another enforcement move in its efforts to combat illegal gaming.

Cease-and-desist letters were issued to 7 Bit Casino, Avia Games Inc., Grande Vegas Casino, High Country Casino, i Net Bet, Liberty Slots Casino, Lincoln Casino, Lucky Hippo Casino, Miami Club Casino, PrimaPlay Casino, Slot Madness, Slots Plus Casino, Sun Palace Casino, Vegas Casino Online, and Vegas2Web Casino.

These follow the cease-and-desist orders issued to six online gambling operators earlier in the month, who were found to be illegally offering internet gaming and sports betting to Michigan residents without state authorization.

These unlawful operators try to present themselves as legitimate entertainment options, but they offer zero player protections, no accountability, and a real risk to consumers,” said Henry Williams, MGCB Executive Director.

“Our message is simple: If you want to offer gambling in Michigan, follow the law, or we will stop you. We will continue to work aggressively to keep illegal gambling out of our state.”

Under state law, only MGCB-licensed operators can provide internet gaming and sports betting. The named entities were found offering casino-style games or interactive wagering without the necessary authorization, in violation of the Lawful Internet Gaming Act, the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act, and relevant sections of the Michigan Penal Code.

The regulator noted that, unlike licensed operators, unapproved platforms are not subject to independent testing or required consumer safeguards. The 15 operators have been directed to immediately halt their Michigan-facing operations or face further enforcement actions in coordination with the Michigan Department of Attorney General.

The crackdown aligns with the MGCB’s “Play It Smart, Michigan” campaign, which educates the public on the dangers of illegal gambling and how to spot unlicensed platforms. The agency has launched a “Legal vs. Illegal Gaming” webpage detailing the distinctions between authorized and unauthorized gambling, along with tips for identifying unsafe operators.

Fake ads can look convincing—sometimes even using familiar logos or names—but they can be nothing more than a gateway to offshore sites that put players at risk,” Williams said. “Through our Play It Smart, Michigan campaign, we’re giving Michiganders the tools they need to tell the difference between safe, legal play and dangerous, illegal operations.”

The MGCB’s educational outreach includes guidance on recognizing deceptive advertising and warning signs of illegal gambling, supported by informational videos on the agency’s Facebook, X, and Instagram channels.
