Former Chelsea and England captain John Terry has joined football prediction app LEBOM as ambassador and investor ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season. The company called Terry's involvement "a major landmark" for the app, following "a tremendous year of growth."

Terry joins the business in a three-year deal with the mission to help shape LEBOM's future and its low-stakes, peer-to-peer approach to betting, the company said. The brand offers users the opportunity to set up private football prediction leagues, with a focus on competitive but social gaming

LEBOM describes its model as simple, low-stakes, and high-reward, sitting at the intersection of gaming, competition, and community. Through LEBOM, players create private leagues, predict match outcomes, and play for a shared pot.

Terry, a five-time Premier League winner, will work closely with LEBOM on product development and, as part of his role, will share his weekly score predictions throughout the 2025/26 Premier League season.

Commenting on his investment in LEBOM, John Terry said: "I've been playing LEBOM with my family and close mates, and it's honestly brought a whole new energy to the weekend's football.

"It's really competitive and exciting, but it's about enjoying the game together and the bragging rights, not chasing big wins or betting alone. The team behind LEBOM has built something smart, safe, and genuinely fun, and I'm proud to be backing them as both an ambassador and an investor."

While the company has reported steady year-on-year growth since launch in 2021, the LEBOM team highlighted the 2024/25 campaign as a period of "tremendous" growth, hitting 65,000 active players - more than its previous active campaigns combined. The football predictor app has also enjoyed a strong retention of 86% amongst players, with £4 million changing hands between private groups.

May marked the launch of the platform's new game LEBOM Universe, in which users have the opportunity to opt into a global league for a fixed £2 entry fee to play against other users on the platform for the chance to win bigger prizes.

Chris Ricketts, CEO and co-founder of LEBOM, said: "John's backing is a huge statement of intent, and we were blown away by his enthusiasm for LEBOM. He brings not only credibility and reach, but a competitive spirit that mirrors what we're building.

"We're already loving working with him and know he can help unleash LEBOM's full potential over the coming seasons as we continue to provide fans with an exciting, community-led, responsible experience in sports betting."
