President of Coljuegos to be 'Guest of Honor Regulator' at SAGSE Paraguay 2025

SAGSE Paraguay 2025 organizers have announced the participation of Marco Emilio Hincapié, President of Coljuegos, as Guest of Honor Regulator in the next edition of the event, set to gather major stakeholders of the gaming industry in Latin America.

"The presence of the head of Coljuegos reinforces SAGSE's commitment to promote the international exchange of good regulatory practices and open spaces for dialogue between control agencies, operators, and technology providers in the sector," the organization said.

According to the announcement, Hincapié will be the protagonist of the Special Conference "Regulatory Panorama in Colombia and Regional Challenges", during which the President of Coljuegos will offer a strategic view on the present and future of the market in his country, addressing the Colombian regulatory model, the recent advances in the fight against illegal gaming, the promotion of responsible gaming and prevention policies, the technological innovation and digital transformation of the system, and the challenges to harmonize regulations at a regional level.

"SAGSE Paraguay will be a key space to strengthen institutional alliances and learn in depth how legal frameworks are being modernized in the region," said Alan Burak, Vice President of Monografie and organizer of SAGSE.

"Colombia is currently one of the countries with the greatest regulatory maturity in Latin America, and its experience in the implementation of online control systems, user protection, and effective collection represents a model case for operators and governments in the region," he added.

Coljuegos was the first entity in the region to regulate online gambling in 2016, and today the country has more than 20 legal operators, an active responsible gaming framework, and a real-time technological surveillance system. "Dialogue with Paraguay, Argentina, Brazil, and other countries in the process of regulatory modernization is fundamental to advance towards a more transparent, secure, and sustainable regional industry," the organizers commented.

Besides, its organizers explained that SAGSE Paraguay 2025 will gather regulators from all of Latin America, in a closed and exclusive event for operators, sponsors, and authorities to be held on August 6 and 7 at the Hotel Casino Acaray in Ciudad del Este.
