Codere Online reaffirms board, names A.G. Burnett Chair of Compliance Committee

Codere Online has strengthened its governance framework with the appointment of A.G. Burnett as Chairman of its Compliance Committee, effective July 1, while also securing full shareholder approval for all agenda items at its Annual General Meeting.

The Nasdaq-listed online gaming operator, which maintains a leading position in Spain and several Latin American markets, reported that shareholders endorsed all 24 items on the docket during the AGM held at the company’s registered office. This included confirming and renewing the mandates of all existing Board members, thereby preserving the current composition of the Board.

Last month, the Board selected Burnett to take over leadership of the Compliance Committee, with Rafael Catalá and Yaiza Rodríguez continuing as members.

Burnett brings more than two decades of expertise in gaming regulation and law, having served as Chairman and Executive Director of the Nevada Gaming Control Board from 2012 to 2017. His regulatory track record also includes roles as Deputy Chief of the GCB’s Corporate Securities Division and as Senior Deputy Attorney General representing both the GCB and the Nevada Gaming Commission.

Burnett is currently a partner at McDonald Carano, advising clients on regulatory compliance, licensing, AML, and sports betting matters. His industry involvement extends to advisory positions with groups such as the International Association of Gaming Advisors, the International Masters of Gaming Law, and UNLV’s Boyd School of Law Gaming Law Advisory Board.

He succeeds Mark Dunn, who served as Chairman of the Compliance Committee since 2022. Codere Online expressed its gratitude to Dunn for his commitment and leadership, noting that his efforts were key to fostering a robust compliance culture throughout the company.
