NOVOMATIC highlights employee well-being and safety at annual Health Day

NOVOMATIC reaffirmed its commitment to occupational health and safety as more than 1,000 employees gathered at the company’s headquarters in Gumpoldskirchen, Lower Austria, for its sixth annual Health Day, part of the broader NOVO Company Day initiative.

Organized under the banner of employee well-being, the event featured a variety of physical activities, health workshops, and safety demonstrations, and was officially certified as a Green Event in line with NOVOMATIC’s sustainability goals.

“The health and well-being of our employees is important to us – they are, after all, the very basis on which teams can be formed, innovative ideas developed, and long-term, sustainable company growth enjoyed,” the company’s Executive Board said in a joint statement. “With the NOVO Company Day, we aim to send a clear signal of appreciation and demonstrate the importance to us of a motivating and healthy place of work.”

The day opened with a keynote by six-time Race Across America champion Christoph Strasser, who spoke about perseverance, motivation, and teamwork, drawing from his career as an extreme cyclist. Interactive sessions ranged from sports such as street racket and archery to VR-based fire safety training and defibrillator instruction.

Local police and healthcare organizations, including ASKÖ and Hilfswerk, participated by offering preventive safety tips and information on nursing care.

Gumpoldskirchen Mayor Dagmar Händler praised NOVOMATIC’s role in the local economy and its dedication to workplace health. “NOVOMATIC is the biggest employer in our community and is therefore a core part of Gumpoldskirchen’s economic strength,” Händler said. “I am particularly impressed by the level of responsibility shown by the company towards its workforce – from safe workstations to a strong focus on health and well-being.”

Now in its 45th year, NOVOMATIC said the high turnout and engagement at the Company Day reflect the importance employees place on health initiatives and underscore its broader efforts to foster a safe, supportive work culture.
