In a shift involving two major casino operators in Asia, Damian Quayle will step down from his role as Chief Gaming Officer at SJM Resorts on June 20 and assume the position of President at Solaire Resort North, operated by Bloomberry Resorts Corp. in Quezon City, starting July 1.
Quayle’s appointment comes during a period of ongoing executive turnover at Bloomberry.
Earlier this year, former Bloomberry President and COO Tom Arasi departed, followed by Gianpietro Iseppi, the former Senior Vice President of Resort Operations at Solaire Resort North, who has joined Wynn Al Marjan Island.
Greg Hawkins, former executive at Star Entertainment Group, has been serving as acting COO of Bloomberry since February. Hawkins previously led Solaire Resort North until December 2024.
The upcoming leadership transition at SJM Resorts was disclosed in an internal memo issued Friday by Managing Director Daisy Ho.
She confirmed Quayle’s resignation and noted that a new Chief Gaming Officer has already been appointed, with the announcement to follow. In the interim, Senior Vice President for Table and Slot Operations Marco Ieong will lead SJM’s gaming division.
In the same memo, Ho thanked Quayle for his service and acknowledged his leadership during his tenure at the company.
Quayle joined SJM in mid-2024 after a brief role as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Gaming at LET Westside, a Manila-based integrated resort under Suntrust Resort Holdings Inc., a unit of LET Group.
Quayle’s career spans multiple gaming jurisdictions, with past positions in Macau at Wynn and Melco, and nearly 12 years with Star Entertainment Group in Australia.
His new role at Solaire Resort North aligns him once again with Hawkins, a former colleague in both the Australian and Macau markets.
Solaire Resort North, Bloomberry’s second integrated casino complex after its Entertainment City flagship in Manila, began operations recently and remains in its early stages of development. The property is located in Quezon City, just outside Metro Manila.
While SJM prepares for internal transition, Bloomberry continues to adjust its management team as operations expand across its properties in the Philippines.
