Two major Times Square venues, The Town Hall and Sony Hall, have announced their support for the proposed Caesars Palace Times Square casino. The project, led by SL Green, Caesars Entertainment, and Roc Nation, would bring a casino, hotel, and entertainment hub to 1515 Broadway.

The endorsement from The Town Hall and Sony Hall underscores the growing momentum behind the plan, according to its developers, who say it will boost tourism and support the city’s live entertainment industry.

“By drawing more visitors to the area, I genuinely believe Caesars Palace Times Square will help drive additional commerce, increase ticket sales for live performances, and strengthen the entire ecosystem that supports our city’s world-renowned arts and culture sector,” said Matt Goldman, Executive Director of The Town Hall.

Sony Hall’s COO, Tsion Bensusan, called the plan “a transformative opportunity” that will “benefit theaters of all sizes.”

"As one of New York City’s most iconic music theaters, we understand the vital role that entertainment plays in making the Big Apple – and Times Square, in particular – a world-class destination," Bensusan added. We’re proud to join this project and support a vision that will help ensure Times Square remains the world’s premier entertainment district.”

“Roc Nation is dedicated to fostering creative talent and creating an environment where New York art and culture can thrive," added Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez. "Support from The Town Hall and Sony Hall allows us to continue preserving New York’s legacy of being the entertainment mecca.”

Caesars and Roc Nation will sponsor live events at both venues and work on job development programs to connect local residents with employment opportunities, the companies said.

The project also includes converting an office tower into a hotel and launching Caesars Rewards in New York City. More than 200 businesses and organizations, including restaurants, hotels, unions, and Broadway groups, have now backed the bid.
