Maryland’s six licensed casinos recorded $162.64 million in total gaming revenue from slot machines and table games in April 2025, a marginal decline of 0.3% compared to the same month last year, according to data released by Maryland Lottery and Gaming.
Despite the dip in overall casino earnings, contributions to the state rose slightly, totaling $70.57 million, an increase of 1.1% year-on-year.
Of the state’s gaming revenue intake, $50.9 million was allocated to the Maryland Education Trust Fund, reflecting a 1.1% rise from April 2024. The remaining funds were distributed among the horse racing industry, local impact grants, and responsible gambling initiatives.
Among the individual properties, MGM National Harbor retained its lead with $68.6 million in revenue, marking a 0.8% increase from the previous year. Live! Casino & Hotel followed, generating $58.95 million but posting a 3.2% decline compared to April 2024.
Horseshoe Casino reported a 6.2% year-on-year gain, bringing in $15.58 million. Ocean Downs Casino also experienced growth, up 2.9% to $7.54 million. Hollywood Casino saw a modest dip of 0.6%, while Rocky Gap Casino recorded the sharpest percentage decline, down 4.1% from the same period last year.
