MGM Resorts International has built a new live dealer studio at its MGM Grand hotel-casino in Las Vegas, aiming to expand its online gaming footprint in international markets.

The studio, named MGM Live, was developed in partnership with Playtech and is awaiting regulatory approval before beginning operations, expected in the first half of 2025. It will livestream traditional casino games exclusively to select international markets, as Nevada regulations currently restrict such services from targeting U.S. players.

"Pending regulatory approval, we are currently working to introduce the next phase of our live dealer product with plans to livestream new gaming experiences from our studio space located on MGM Grand’s casino floor in Las Vegas," MGM Resorts said in a statement.

The MGM Live studio will also feature a "Family Feud"-branded section, although details about how it will be incorporated into online or in-person play remain unclear. MGM Resorts obtained iGaming rights to the "Family Feud" brand earlier this year following a partnership between its online gaming arm, BetMGM, and Fremantle, the producer of popular game shows.

"This partnership unlocks various ways for BetMGM and Fremantle to collaborate and expand our brand," said Adam Greenblatt, Chief Executive Officer of BetMGM. "'Family Feud' and 'The Price is Right' are two of the most popular game shows in North America, and we look forward to bringing their fun and excitement to our online casino in various exciting ways."

The dealers at MGM Live are visible to guests inside the MGM Grand, particularly from the adjacent Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill, offering a hybrid experience that blends traditional casino ambience with online innovation.

The launch follows previous collaborations between MGM Resorts and Playtech, including a dual-cast service that enabled international players to place bets both in-person and online at baccarat and roulette tables located at MGM Grand and Bellagio in Las Vegas. A similar service is available to BetMGM players in New Jersey at live roulette tables inside the Borgata casino.

Live dealer casino studios have gained popularity in U.S. states with regulated online gambling, such as New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, where three dedicated studios currently operate out of Atlantic City.

MGM’s move signals potential further expansion of live dealer studios inside Las Vegas casinos, although Nevada regulations mean these experiences will remain limited to international online players for now.
