Betsson acquires gaming license in Brazil for online casino, sports betting
Betsson has officially received a local license for the newly regulated Brazilian market, covering online casino and sports betting. The license, which took effect on 25 February 2025, allows Betsson to offer its services under strict adherence to the country's new rules.
The license reception further strengthens the group’s presence in Latin America. Betsson has been active in the region for over a decade and also holds licenses in other key markets, including Argentina, Colombia, and Peru.

This step aligns with our strategy to grow via geographical expansion, and we look forward to offering Brazilian customers a secure and high-quality gaming experience.”
The reception follows Betsson Group's recent announcement of its "strongest year ever" in 2024 after a standout Q4 performance helped the operator post records for full-year revenue, net profit, and EBITDA.
Revenue for the three months to December 31 amounted to €306.8 million ($318.8 million), an increase of 22%. Additionally, net income was €53.1 million ($54.9 million) and EBITDA was €86.4 million ($89.4 million), an increase of 20%.
