The American Gaming Association (AGA) has teamed up with NASCAR to promote responsible sports betting practices across key motorsport events, marking the latest step in the two organizations' joint efforts to combat problem gambling.
The AGA’s responsible gambling (RG) messaging first aired during the Xfinity 500 race at Martinsville Speedway and was later broadcasted during the NASCAR Cup Series Championship on Sunday, where fans tuning in to NBC’s coverage from Phoenix Raceway saw continued RG messaging.
This initiative builds on the AGA and NASCAR’s existing partnership, which began in September 2020 when NASCAR became the first professional sports league in the US to partner with the AGA. With a shared objective to foster a safe and responsible betting environment, this latest collaboration aims to reach NASCAR’s extensive fan base by embedding educational messages within the championship playoffs coverage.
NASCAR’s focus on responsible gaming aligns with its broader expansion into the gaming and betting sectors. In 2023, NASCAR renewed a four-year media rights agreement with sports data provider Sportradar and entered into a multi-year arrangement with FanDuel, allowing the sports betting giant to use NASCAR branding in its products.
NASCAR has also bolstered its position in North Carolina’s newly regulated betting market by securing a partnership with DraftKings, designating the brand an official daily fantasy sports partner and authorized gaming operator in the state.
With NASCAR embracing sports betting, bettors across the country are engaging in micro-betting on NASCAR events. This year, the motorsports organization collaborated with nVenue, which now provides live, in-race betting options through a deal with Amelco, offering NASCAR fans micro-betting opportunities during live races.
