The Belgian Gaming Commission (KSC) approved last week a new working method for the Technical inspection department regarding the verification of machines and any progressives attached to them for Class I establishments.

The Royal Decree of February 21, 2003, regarding the control procedures applicable to the recognition, the rules for supervision and control of games of chance oblige the technical service of the Gaming Commission to carry out periodic calibrations to conduct games of chance according to approved models.

Regardless of the type of calibration, the Technical Evaluation Service will provide a set of verification calibration marks, and then an invoice for the fee will be sent to the applicant.

The legislation stipulates that an initial calibration must be carried out in accordance with the approved model before each game of chance is put into use. For the sake of efficiency, there will be several periods per year where calibrations are carried out.

The calibration periods will be indicated on the website of the Gaming Commission (adjustments remain possible) under the "operators" tab, as well as the deadline for submitting applications for calibrations.

The period between calibration periods will normally not exceed three months. No calibrations will be carried out outside these periods.
