On August 11, the deadline imposed by the Rio de Janeiro State Lottery (LOTERJ) to present the accreditations of the companies interested in operating sports betting in that Brazilian state concluded.

In total, eight companies met the requirements and were accredited by LOTERJ to operate, which will be by virtual means, with online access, through desktop or mobile (app), VLT (Video Lottery Terminal), POS (Point of Sale), or Terminals/Totens.

The lottery presided over by Hazenclever Lopes Cançado stipulates that each of the companies must pay BRL 5 million ($ 991,910) for a five-year concession, plus a 5% remuneration on gross gaming revenues for the Lottery.

It should be clarified that LOTERJ established that the accredited companies will have their operation based in Rio de Janeiro, but will be able to commercialize bets throughout the country. This led to a challenge by the Caixa Econômica Federal in court (CEF), to comply with the Provisional Measure that regulates sports betting in Brazil

The accredited companies are JBD (Campina Grande), Laguna (São Paulo), LEMA (São Paulo), PIXBET (Campina Grande), REDE LOTO (São Paulo), S.D.L. (Nova Lima), ST SOFT (Campina Grande) and 1XBET (Caxias do Sul).
