Peru Gaming Show's 18th edition will take off today at 11:00 am (GMT-5), marking the return of the traditional event to the city of Lima, after a long pause due to the pandemic.

Hours before the main opening, organizers of the event highlighted, the "high expectations that revolve around the event in the regional market", although they recognized that the post-pandemic framework influences the call, since "it will not be the same as past editions, due to the delays caused by the paralysis of the industry, however, enthusiasm and confidence are present”.

From AMG SAC, organizers of the event emphasized their gratitude to the companies that will be part of what they called "gaming's closing event of the year", and highlighted the support of internationally renowned sponsoring firms, such as Merkur, BetConstruct, Interblock, EGT, Game Art, GLI and Pragmatic Play, who together with local groups such as Estudio Fonseca and Sportbet Peru will be present at the event, "as well as the exhibitors, who will show off this great gathering," they commented yesterday.

The event is set to begin today in the morning, when those attending the cycle of conferences are present, between 11:00 and 14:00. "It will be two days of extraordinary talks on current issues where the exhibitors will speak to an audience made up of operators, manufacturers, regulators and senior executives of the industry," the organization explained, and emphasized that "due to the restrictions imposed due to biosafety protocols, the assigned space for this activity will have a limited capacity of 250 seats”.

"The entry of the attendees will be based on punctuality because due to the limited capacity it will not be possible to allow more people to enter, once the previously specified number of seats has been filled," they highlighted.

The organization extended an invitation to the Peruvian Vice Minister of Tourism, Isabel Álvarez, to kickstart the fair and welcome all attendees to the event.

“In addition, we will have the special participation of the engineer Manuel San Román Benavente, General Director of Casino Games and Slot Machines of Mincetur, who will share insights on Peru's gaming industry situation, for 2020 and 2021. Furthermore, we will have the participation of the representatives of the business associations of the gaming sector, such as SONAJA by Fernando Calderón, with the theme 'Challenges of the State amidst the recovery of in-person gaming as part of tourism'; and APADELA with the participation of Alberto de D'Angelo and the theme ‘Dynamism of sports betting and online games in Peru’ ”.

“Aditionally, Jorge Picón, senior partner of the Picón & Asociados tax study, will also join as a speaker, and address the topic ‘Taxation in the Gaming Sector. Current problems and trends', together with Carlos Carrión, Director of Product and Marketing at Aristocrat with the theme' Adapting the gaming sector to the new normal and responsible gaming', and Dr. Carlos Fonseca, will share on the topic 'Physical casinos and virtual casinos, partners or enemies?''

Regarding the products and services exhibition area, the event will run from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Jockey Exhibition Center, where more than 30 companies will exhibit, and which will undoubtedly be the center of the networking activity proposed by the event's organizers. In this way, PGS 2021 is preparing to make its long-awaited return to in-person events and will provide not only an outstanding business and exhibition space for the Peruvian industry but also an important stage to make known the issues that today bring the industry's professionals together.
