The GAT Caribe in-person event took off Thursday November 25 at the Westin Puntacana Resort & Club in Punta Cana, and will run through November 26 in a two-day encounter dedicated to the analysis and study of markets in casinos, lotteries, platforms and digital transformation, including eSports and the potential regulation of sports betting in the region.

For the first time in the Dominican Republic, casinos, sports banks and lotteries will meet on the same stage to debate and share ideas about the future, among an agenda of conferences and panels; with the development, digitalization and diversification of legal gambling as a common goal.

The event will begin at 2 p.m., with the David Moinz, President of the Dominican Association of Gaming Casinos RD; Ricardo Nadal, President of the National Association of Sports Banks RD; Elizabeth Maya, President of Cornazar, Colombia; and Evert Montero, President of Fecoljuegos, Colombia welcoming the guests with an inauguration speech.

The corporate exhibition will run both days between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. in the Gran Salón Yauya, now transformed into a showroom for IGC’s land-based equipment and the stands of EvenBet Gaming and DAPS solutions.

The Dominican Association of Gaming Casinos will kickstart the academy day with the conference “Genesis of Gambling and Casinos in the Dominican Republic”.

Lotteries are part of the Caribbean and Latin culture, and will be the subject of talks with experts on Thursday afternoon. Esmeralda Britton, President of the Costa Rican Social Protection Board, Costa Rica's regulatory body, and the National Lottery, will present her lecture: "Regulatory Framework of Gambling in Costa Rica". Loteka RD will be represented by Yamile Gutiérrez, Legal Director and Compliance Officer. Isidro Tejada, Regulatory Advisor and Camilo Paez, Consultant Lawyer in Gaming and Lotteries, will also be present.

In an official press release, José Aníbal Aguirre, CEO Gaming & Technology Expo, spoke about this year’s event and said: "After the forced pause we have had to live through as organizers of face-to-face fairs and the chaos in the economy of all countries, we have the privilege of inaugurating GAT Caribe today, thanks to several months of concerted efforts and the firm support of the Dominican Casino Association, the National Association of Sports Banks and well-known companies such as Juancito Sport, Loteka and Zataca. Colombia will shine in the agenda of GAT Caribe with the knowledge and experience of Elizabeth Maya Cano, President of Cornazar and Evert Montero Cárdenas, leader and visible head of the Colombian Federation of Gaming Businessmen, Fecoljuegos. Evolution Global disembarks from Europe, with an enviable list of awards for its quality and management as a supplier of casino operators".
