ICE Africa Digital 2020, the first pan-African gambling and betting digital conference, kicked off Tuesday with Nkoatse Mashamaite, director of gaming law and policy at South Africa’s Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (DTIC), delivering an insightful and informative session on the future of gambling in South Africa.
The conference comes as the big finale to a series of free digital content being released over the past few months such as the IMGL masterclass discussing the impact of COVID-19 on African gambling and the exclusive iGB Africa report with Scott Longley and Ed Birkin.
The digital platform offers useful content to help to create risk-free strategies around the African regulatory blockers, and also, its bespoke networking platform allows users to meet with gaming companies such as BetKing, Editec, Goldrush Gaming Group, La Marocaine Des Jeux et des Sports, Hollywoodbets, ITHUBA Holdings, Peermont Global, Sun International, among others.
Day one agenda features "The Future of Gambling in South Africa" by Nkoatse Mashamaite; "African gaming in 2020 and beyond" with Ed Birkin, senior consultant at H2 Gambling Capital; TGA (Totally Gaming Academy): Responsible Gaming, by Christina Thakor-Rankin, Principal Consultant at 1710 Gaming Ltd; "Rise in Online Betting", with Olafedeke Akeju, Partner at WYS Solictors, among other speakers; TGA: Practical Measures for Casinos post COVID, by Stasi Baren, COO of nQube; and "What to expect from the new normal" with Lee Zama, Chief Executive Officer at Fedhasa, among other speakers. See full agenda here.
The digital conference runs from 27 to 29 October. For the first time, the content is available in both English and French, reflecting Africa’s large Francophone population. Attendees will also be able to take advantage of the MATCH! Buyer Program - an efficient networking platform that matches participants, delivers qualified meetings and increases ROI, powered by artificial intelligence.
Clarion Gaming’s training division, Totally Gaming Academy, will run a series of bespoke training sessions, allowing registrants to learn from industry experts at a time when COVID-19 is causing significant disruption to the traditionally successful verticals across Africa.
The ICE Africa, Women in Gaming (WIG) campaign will run digitally after its successful pan-African launch in 2019. The WIG platform will continue to highlight the diverse and phenomenal contribution made by women throughout the African gaming sector.
