The inaugural Gaming in the Nordics event will bring together regulators, operators, and industry stakeholders from Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Norway for a half-day conference on the region’s regulated and emerging iGaming markets on June 18 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The event is organized by Gaming in Europe, known for its established conferences, including Gaming in Holland, Gaming in Germany, and Gaming in Spain. The launch will be hosted at the Better Collective HQ in Copenhagen.
The keynote address will be delivered by Anders Dorph, Director of the Danish Gambling Authority, underscoring the event’s focus on regulatory engagement and market development.
A strong lineup of industry and policy speakers has also been confirmed for the event, including Pontus Lindwall, CEO of Betsson; Jesper Søgaard, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Better Collective; Morten Ronde, CEO of the Danish Online Gambling Association (DOGA); Fredrik Stenstrøm, Secretary General of the Norway Association for Online Gaming (NBO); Pekka Ilmivalta, Head of Office at Nordic Legal Finland; Birgitte Sand, CEO of Birgitte Sand & Associates; Josh Hodgson, Chief Operating Officer at H2 Gambling Capital; and Peter-Paul de Goeij, Managing Consultant, QuodBonum.se (day chair).
"We are extremely pleased that Mr. Anders Dorph has agreed to speak at the Gaming in the Nordics launch event,” Gaming in the Nordics founder Willem van Oort said. “In my experience, it is always good to be able to facilitate a dialogue between regulatory authorities and the industry – which in this case will be very capably represented by Betsson's Mr. Pontus Lindwall, as well as several leading trade bodies."
He noted that while Nordic markets vary in terms of regulation and maturity, they share key structural similarities that make them well-suited for exchanging best practices and insights.
The 2026 edition will be a small, invitation-only half-day conference with limited attendance capacity.
A full-scale annual Gaming in the Nordics Conference is planned to launch in Copenhagen starting in June 2027.
