Under the "SAHARA Cares" program, the live gaming experience will include less players on each game with the appropriate distance between games; players of live table games will be asked to wear cloth facemasks and to step away from the game if they want to smoke; and there will also be increased sanitization of table rails, chairs, dice, and chips in addition to changes in procedures to minimize player touching of cards.

SAHARA Las Vegas officials announced a comprehensive outline of health and safety protocols that will be put in place upon the resumption of operations following the government-mandated closure of the property on March 17 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The outline details enhancements to the resort’s rigorous sanitation protocols along with new social distance considerations, ktnv.com reports.

"The health and safety of our guests and team members is our number one priority," said Paul Hobson, SAHARA Las Vegas Senior Vice President and General Manager. "In addition to the enhanced cleaning practices, we have developed new service initiatives designed with the wellbeing of our guests in mind. We recognize the ongoing need to stay informed regarding the latest recommended protocols and resources to deter the spread of the virus. We are committed to ensuring both our guests and team members can feel safe when they come to our resort."

The company also stated that it will continue to follow the orders of Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak and that it anticipates a phased approach to re-opening.
