Both regions will have a $6,100 prize pool in the Main Division, with both winners receiving $2,500 of the prize pool. The Invite Division will have a $15,000 prize pool for both EU and NA. The victors will receive $7,000 each.

This season, partnerships with Bayes Esports Solutions and Abios will allow viewers to access pre-match and live odds, live data, and curated results. Fans can also find news on the league, as well as records, statistics, and match demos on the dedicated Winners League website. The latest league news can also be followed at WIN.gg.

The tournament format is also seeing major improvements. Just like last year, players can participate in the league via the FACEIT platform, proving themselves in the lower divisions and fighting for a spot in the Invite Division. This season, the Invite Division features 16 teams per region. There will also be a swiss group stage instead of the previous round-robin style, with the season’s duration now being set at six weeks.

The Invite Division will also feature a high-quality broadcast to be streamed on Winners League twitch channel featured throughout each week of play, so returning fans and newcomers to the league can enjoy the live action from anywhere around the globe. This is a chance for up and coming CSGO teams to prove themselves to a dedicated audience and to earn the chance to play with the best CSGO players in the world.

Last season saw 1.000.000 + viewers across English, Russian and Portuguese language streams, which included over 850 matches. Last season also had a combined following of over 4 million people across Twitter and Facebook.

“There is so much talk about the new big leagues right now and so much focus on the handful of top teams involved in them,” said Nick Gorbunov, project lead for Winners League. “Everyone seems to forget about the semi-pro scenes and the upcoming teams, which are the heart and soul of CSGO as an eSport.”

Gorbunov explained that the gap between these teams on the rise and the best CSGO squads in the world is getting smaller every day. Winners League is a platform that allows teams who haven’t yet had the opportunity to play on the world’s biggest stages to show their quality and the intensity of their play.

This is a concept shared by WIN.gg founder and CEO Serge Vardanyan. He states that the focus of FLASHPOINT, ESL Pro League, and BLAST Premier is tier-one competition — the top 20 teams. WINNERS League, meanwhile, is one of the only organizations focused on tier two and three scenes, aiming to build the scene and support its fanbase.

“Our goal is to better support amateur and semi-professional esports communities. We do that by incentivizing them to pursue those goals through the WINNERS League. We’ve done a pretty good job by providing the coliseum for the teams, but there is so much we can do,” he explained. “I want to use the opportunity of this interview and address the leadership of FLASHPOINT and BLAST. If you love Counter-Strike as we do and understand the importance of having a healthy secondary scene, we are ready to become your backbone and allow you to appeal to all the demographics from casual gamers to pros.”
