Rising Star Casino Resort opens BetAmerica Sportsbook in Indiana

Rising Star Casino Resort became Monday the latest Indiana casino to offer wagering on sporting events when it opened its BetAmerica Sportsbook at noon.

The sportsbook opened with a ribbon-cutting by Rising Star General Manager Ben Douglass and former NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals players Ickey Woods, Joe Walter, Louis Breeden, Robert Jackson, Kevin Walker, Richard Carey, and Joe Kelly, who all made the first wagers at the Churchill Downs’ BetAmerica Sportsbook.

“We are excited to be able to offer sports betting to our guests here at Rising Star,” said Douglass, as reported by WLWT. “The sports betting industry is expected to provide Indiana with hundreds of new jobs as well as an additional $150 million in annual state tax revenue over the next five years.”

Rising Star is the third Indiana casino near Cincinnati to offer sports betting since the Indiana Gaming Commission permitted casinos to do so beginning Sept. 1. The regulator lists 23 events approved for sports betting, including NFL, MLB, NBA, MMA, motorsports, soccer and more. Professional leagues and NCAA Division I sports are included, but no youth or high school games. 

The BetAmerica Sportsbook at Rising Star Casino, owned by Full House Resorts, offers self-service sports betting kiosks, as well as cashiers and a full bar. The physical property launch will soon be followed by the launch of an online and mobile sports betting platform.
