The Danish Gambling Authority, Spillemyndigheden, has launched a whistleblower program to which employees can report a company’s violation or potential violation of the anti-money laundering legislation.

A contact form has been established for the purpose, which can be found under the menu “Contact”. Via the contact form, an employee can send an anonymous, encrypted report to the Danish Gambling Authority. When receiving a report, the regulator will conduct a legal assessment and subsequently take care of the following process.

The new scheme follows the regulator’s recent ploy to strengthen consumer protection throughout the year, with recent warnings being issued to licensees regarding the promotion of bonus offers. In April, Spillemyndigheden blocked access to 25 gambling websites after petitioning the country’s telecommunications providers. Under court order from Copenhagen City Court, Danish internet providers have now been obliged to block access to ten igaming sites, in addition to 15 skin betting websites.

In March, the operator released a new code of conduct for gambling operators in Denmark, with the intention of minimizing the risk of problem gambling behaviours and ensuring consumer protection.
