Local media has reported that the chairman and chief executive of the New Jersey Casino Control Commission will not be reappointed to the commission.

Sources familiar with the matter said James Plousis will replace Levinson on the board. However, timing for the change has not been set.

Plousis is currently chair of the New Jersey State Parole Board.

Levinson has served as chairman and CEO since 2012, and has played a major role in revitalizing the city.

The reasons behind him not being reappointed remain unclear, sources said, noting a potential reappointment has been on hold for some time.
