Anthony Werkman takes reins at Betway as chief executive
Akitt served as chief executive for five years, leading the company through a “dramatic period of growth”.
“I am honored to be taking on the group CEO role of Betway at a hugely exciting time for the company,” Werkman said.
“Richard and I have worked closely together over the last few years and I look forward to continuing to work with him in his new role as chairman.
“We have experienced an incredible period of growth over the past few years and are determined to make sure that trajectory continues.”
Akitt added, “It’s been a privilege to be CEO of Betway for the last five years, but the time is right for me to hand over the reins to Anthony.
“I look forward to continuing our excellent working relationship and being closely involved in the strategic direction of the business going forward.”
