Following the Las Vegas trade event that brought together industry representatives from all over the world, IGT executive Marcel Heutmekers went over the highlights of the show and affirmed customers "appreciate that IGT is pushing the envelope of innovation."

What were your expectations for G2E 2017? What inspired IGT’s motto 'Let's Play'?

G2E was a productive show for IGT. We hosted customers from all parts of the world who enjoyed our games and expressed their confidence in IGT’s direction and innovations. Following a year of multiple cabinet introductions, this year’s show was about the depth and breadth of our content portfolio, and delivering on the promises that we made to our customers over the last two years.

IGT’s 2017 G2E theme “Let’s Play” signaled the Company’s delivery of market-ready cabinets, content and innovation. We look forward to extending this momentum to Latin America at SAGSE Buenos Aires in November.

IGT's SPHINX 4D game was named "Land-Based Gaming Innovation of the Year". What feedback did you receive from attendees on this product?

Winning “Land-Based Gaming Innovation of the Year” with SPHINX 4D™ at the Global Gaming Awards was a welcomed acknowledgement of IGT’s commitment to innovation. IGT’s SPHINX 4D game is market-ready and is anticipated to hit casino floors in the U.S. in 2017. Given the popularity of IGT’s SPHINX 3D™ game throughout Latin America, I am optimistic that the SPHINX 4D game will enjoy similar levels of success. Our customers continue to marvel in the game’s multi-sensory player experience and appreciate that IGT is pushing the envelope of innovation by delivering a gaming experience unlike anything previously offered in the industry.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show Sharing the Love Video Slots is already available in US casinos. Are you planning to release it in the LatAm market any time soon?

The Ellen DeGeneres Show™ Sharing the Love game is not on the immediate roadmap for Latin America, however we have many other premium titles scheduled for release in the region that we believe will be popular among players. For example, IGT’s new version of Fort Knox® Video Slots on the CrystalCurve cabinet has the potential to quickly become a player-favorite title in Latin America. The original Fort Knox game remains one of the most successful linked-progressives of all time and our new Fort Knox game retained many of the same play mechanics and bank-wide celebrations that propelled the success of the original game. Additionally, by featuring Fort Knox on the CrystalCurve™ cabinet, we offer players the enhanced Fort Knox experience with pristine visuals, audio and ergonomics.

What would you say were the turning points this year for both IGT and the gaming industry in general?

In recent months, IGT has introduced innovative new games and cabinets throughout Latin America that have been catalysts for our accelerated growth in the region. In particular, the Axxis 23/23 cabinet and the CrystalDual cabinet and the rich game libraries that support them continue to inspire our customers’ confidence in IGT and our products. The Egyptian Empire, Big 5 Safari, Ocean Magic and Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania 3 games are all examples of recent IGT product launches that are performing exceedingly well on casino floors and have quickly become player-favorites games in the region. These games, and many more in our content roadmap, earned “Proven Performer Status” in our test banking process - validating that quality assurance methodology, and bolstering customer confidence in our continued growth path.
