Bernstein experts believe the gambling hub will see a 10% to 12% year-on-year uptick during the month, despite the city still struggling to recover from the impact of the devastating Typhooon Hato

The figure assumes average daily revenue from the industry of MOP 660 million to MOP 690 million, from yesterday until the end of the month, reaching a total of MOP 20.4 billion to MOP 20.7 billion in total gross gaming revenue for the month.

Following the typhoon, two properties remain closed: Macau Legend’s Legend Palace and Galaxy’s Broadway Macau. Neither of them have announced dates for resumption of operations, the analysts point out.

The experts continue to emphasize the importance of the mass market in driving Macau’s gaming industry forward. They argue that "in the longer run, the VIP model will continue to face structural headwinds from a tightening regulatory environment in Macau and continued focus on capital outflows in China". However, they note, the "improvements in transportation infrastructure" are helping.

Bernstein analysts claim Wynn Palace is, for mass market, now "strongly positioned in the market over the longer run" as it continues to "ramp up over the next few quarters as marketing efforts are enhanced and the connectivity of the property improves".
