SJM to run lotteries abroad

(Macau).- The Hong Kong newspaper Standard claims Casino operator SJM Holdings intends to spend up to USD 50 million on buying into lottery operations abroad through a joint venture.

(Macau).- The Hong Kong newspaper Standard claims Casino operator SJM Holdings intends to spend up to USD 50 million on buying into lottery operations abroad through a joint venture.

It is reported the firm is set to own 75 percent of a joint venture, set up with lottery company eGame Solutions Operation. SJM says the venture will control companies that run lotteries in five countries, without specifying those countries.

SJM is to offer up to US$ 20 million for investment in two countries and up to US$30 million for investment in the rest, depending on the performance of the respective lottery operations.
