Betfair appointed new non-executive director

(UK).- The UK online gambling group Betfair has appointed Peter Jackson as a non-executive director and a member of its audit committee with immediate effect. Jackson is currently the CEO of Travelex, having joined the foreign exchange provider in March 2010.
Before Travelex, he was managing director of consumer banking for the Lloyds Banking Group, having previously held a number of senior roles within the retail arm of HBOS before its merger with Lloyds. He started his career at McKinsey and Co.
Commenting on the appointment, Betfair chairman Gerald Corbett said: “He brings a wealth of commercial experience and insight and will be a valuable addition to Betfair as we focus on our new strategy announced in December 2012.”
