Yogonet.com interviewed Alfred Hofer, Head of Marketing and Sales of Greentube, who talked about the main markets and projects of the company, as well as about the future of online gaming. The executive was incorporated to the firm in 2006, and he previously collaborated as external consultant.

What is your main offer to the gambling industry?
Greentube is a full service provider for turnkey Gaming solutions. Our strength also lies in the fact that we are offering Skill Games, Bingo, Poker AND Casino-Games. So, Greentube is the only company doing lots of software-development in house for all product-segments, except Sportsbook.

Since January 2010, Greentube is a part of the Novomatic Group of companies and designated being the online division of Novomatic. Greentube will be integrating the most successful slot-products of Novomatic (such as “Book of Ra”, “Sizzling Hot”, “Dolphin´s Pearl”,…) into its online casino – offering – a major advantage towards the competition, as those slots are the most proven successful ones all around the globe. What companies of the gambling industry are your main clients? Our clients include big brands and names like Volkswagen, France Télévision, RAI, Canal+, T-Mobile, Swisscom and many others for different gaming-products, including mobile gaming. Within the gambling-industry we are serving platforms including MyBet, MeccaBingo (both NRGS), Interwetten, CashPoint, AdmiralBet and some others.

Which are Green Tube’s principal markets?
All European markets with a specific focus on Maltese operators, as Greentube Malta is holding a Class 4 – license in Malta as a Software Service Provider. Additional continents will follow very soon, including specifically South America!

Do you have any plans for the Latin American region?
We are seeing the Latin American region being one of our future key-regions and are already planning some steps of growth into that important market within the course of the next years.

How do you think online gambling will evolve?
There is still a significant growth-rate within the industry, but business will not be “exploding” anymore, like it was within the past ten years. The next years will mostly be dominated by the consolidation and professionalization of the industry and also by the obvious liberalization within important markets, including the U.S. most probably. The sector with maybe similar growth-rates within the next 3 to 10 years will be everything related to mobile gaming – depending also on the legal framework in specific continents or countries.

Which are de advantage and disadvantage of the online gambling regarding the land based casinos?
Online Gambling without a doubt is still on the rise – like all online-sectors of traditional businesses. Online gambling is quite different when it comes down to target group of players, legislation, risk management, payout-quotes and many other details. Main advantage of course is the fact that people can play from home (where legal) and don’t have to go to a Casino or Betting- or Gaming-Shops. Technology-wise the internet-business of course is much easier in terms of setup, distribution and product-updates, as everything is handled centrally a server-infrastructure. Therefore, technological experience and leadership are key.

Which are Green Tube’s principal projects for the coming months?
Greentube will be focusing on integrating and positioning itself within the Novomatic group of companies and will have a focus on the increased speed on development of casino-products as well as expanding its product-offering geographically by setting up different server-locations.
