Bede Gaming has powered Sunbet’s entry into Namibia, extending a partnership that has already underpinned the operator’s digital expansion in South Africa and Botswana.

Sunbet, the digital gaming arm of Sun International, has launched in Namibia using Bede’s internationally configurable platform, with the offering covering sports betting, slots and live casino. The platform includes integrations with Kambi, Evolution, Habanero and Pariplay, matching the product structure used in Sunbet’s other two African markets.

The launch follows Sunbet’s 2024 move into Botswana, where the Bede-powered platform recorded sharp growth by the H2 2025 reporting period. Registrations rose 189%, unique players increased 239%, total wagering grew 370%, and Gross Gaming Revenue rose 350%.

Sunbet’s digital performance has also been reflected in Sun International’s FY25 results, with Sunbet income increasing 75.9% for the year. Adjusted EBITDA reached R744 million, up 105% from R363 million in 2024.

The relationship between Sunbet and Bede dates back to 2017, when South Africa’s iGaming market was limited to sports betting and live casino. Sunbet later expanded its digital line-up after slot content regulations changed in 2022, using Bede’s platform to support that growth.

For the Namibia launch, Sunbet will also use Bede’s partnership with Xtremepush to access CRM tools aimed at supporting acquisition and retention activity as the operator builds its presence in the market.

Kirsty Stewart, Chief Legal & Client Success Officer at Bede, said: "It's been wonderful to continue fostering our ongoing partnership with Sunbet, including the delivery of their two global expansions over these last couple of years."

"There's a lot to be proud of within this customer relationship, and we're looking forward to building on the outstanding performance we've witnessed so far. I'm eager to continue offering a strong foundation, exceptional service and powerful integration suite for Sun's future growth."

Bede and Sunbet expect Namibia to offer similar growth potential, citing comparable target player demographics to South Africa and Botswana, as well as the ability to apply similar marketing strategies in the market.

Simon Gregory, Chief Executive Officer at Sunbet, said: "Sun International is a well-respected and trusted brand in Africa, so Sunbet's intention was always to leverage this goodwill by expanding into other African markets."

"We experienced significant success after our debut in Botswana, so rolling out Sunbet to the Namibian market was the natural next step for us, especially given that Namibia is one of South Africa's strongest trading partners.

"We are equally confident that with Bede, we have the right partner to achieve our regional expansion strategy. Their platform offers the digital flexibility and stability we need to efficiently enter new markets while living up to Sunbet's promise to deliver a high-quality experience for players.

"We look forward to building a strong presence in Namibia and bringing the same trusted Sunbet experience that customers have come to expect across our other markets."
