New Chilean casinos generated incomes of more than us$ 109 million

Besides, the 15 city councils and 10 regional governments are entitled to receive a total of us$ 18.27 million in specific gaming tax and the State us$ 9 million in income tax. Operating societies also generated us$ 17.47 million in VAT gaming concept.

Despite 8 of the 15 new casinos had to stop operating temporarily as a consequence of the earthquake of last February 27, operacional results of the semestre show that gross gaming incomes grew a 28% compared to the same period in 2009, passing from us$ 84.83 million to us$ 109.42 million.

Casino Superintendent, Francisco Javier Leiva, pointed that “although operational results of the new casinos fell abruptly from March, due to the effects of the earthquake, from May a significant recovery has occured, so for this year a growth of at least 15% is projected.”

Comparing the operational results of the first semestre of this year with the same period in 2009, it is seen that, although each casino had a decrease of 3.89% in daily visits -from 854 to 820- the average expense of these increased a 12.2%, which explains the growth fee of gross incomes of the industry.

Of the total of us$ 109.42 million in gross gaming incomes or win, Enjoy Antofagasta represented a 17.16 % (us$ 18.78 million), Monticello Grand Casino represented the 14.82 % (us$ 16.21 million), Dreams Temuco 11.35 % (us$ 14.42 million), Dreams Punta Arenas 9.93% (us$ 10.87 million), Casino Sol Calama 7.56 % (us$ 8,27 million), Dreams Valdivia 6.68 % (us$ 7.31 million), Antay Casino & Hotel 6.35 % (us$ 6.94 million), Marina del Sol 6.14 % (us$ 6.72 million), Casino de Colchagua 4.51 % (us$ 4.94 million), Casino Sol Osorno 4.36 % (us$ 4.77 million), Casino de Juegos del Pacífico 3.56 % (us$ 3.90 million), Casino de Juego de Rinconada 3.48 % (us$ 3.81 million), Casino Gran Los Ángeles 2,24 % (us$ 2.45 million), Gran Casino de Talca 1,36 % (us$ 1.48 million) and Termas de Chillán 0.51 % (us$ 0.55 million).

Complying with the norm established by SCJ for games of chance to bring jackpots no less than 85% of the amount bet in the total of combinations of possible the 7,002 slots operating delivered an average of 93 % of return as a jackpot for players. While the total amount bet increased to us$ 1,238.60 million, the win in games of chance machines for the 15 new casinos was of us$ 87.39 million, which means that the jackpots won by players was of us$ 1,151.21 million.
