Due to the global financial and economic crisis, CAI turnover was reduced to 225.1 million euros, a 5,8 % less than in 2007. Another factor that reduced the results, according to the firm, is the new laws against tobacco, such as in Australia, Germany, Canada and Switzerland.
The experience has shown that, when smoking is forbidden, customers play less, assured CAI.
Besides, the ups and downs in currency also harmed the result of the company, which manages more than 60 casinos in 17 countries and 10 river-boat casinos.
