The firm’s President and CEO Victor Duarte said: “Spielo was the first supplier to deploy its VLT system at the official launch of the Italian VLT program in Rome on July 16, 2010. Since then, we have leveraged our leading position in the market, in combination with an aggressive roll-out schedule, to deploy more than 8,000 VLTs in Italy. Due to the successful performance of our games, jackpot and system, our installation base represents approximately 38% of the total VLTs currently operating in this market, and has generated more than 60% of the total cash played.”

“We are very pleased with our success to date in Italy, and we are optimistic about our future expansion and performance in this intensely competitive environment,” Duarte added.

Spielo is providing multiple Italian VLT concessionaires, including Lottomatica Videolot Rete, with Spielo’s Intelligen server-based gaming central system, its multi-level linked progressive jackpot, retailer terminals, prodiGi Vu VLTs, game content and services.

The 13,400 VLTs provided under the contracts are expected to represent approximately 24% of the total VLTs in the Italian gaming market upon full implementation of the program. With 8,000 already deployed, Spielo expects to install the remaining 5,400 VLTs during the remainder of 2011 and into 2012.

Its current jackpot installations are among the key drivers of the Italy VLT program’s success. Spielo’s scalable, flexible multi-level linked progressive jackpot is part of the Intelligen Multi-Player module. It comprises two jackpots at the local level, and one at the wide-area level, providing players across the country the opportunity to win a significant prize payout up to a maximum of 500,000 euros.

Spielo’s Intelligen deployment in Italy marked the world’s first Game to System (G2S) open standard protocol-based VLTs, central monitoring systems and retailer terminals, enabling Italian concessionaires to benefit from the added functionality and operational flexibility of state-of-the-art G2S-based technology.
