Intralot wins the online contract in Washington DC

(US).- Following an international tender, Intralot USA has been awarded a contract for the provision of an online gaming system, including associated gaming products and support services with the DC Lottery and Charitable Games Control Board (DCLB). The contract has an initial term of five years with an extension option for up to four additional years.

he contract entails the provision of a state of the art central system, a back-up system, an Internal Control System, 625+ terminals and related peripheral equipment, and the necessary software. Additionally, it will provide the telecommunications system and related equipment, implementation services and facilities management. The firm will also provide new and innovative gaming opportunities to the DCLB as well as support for marketing and promotions.

The DCLB is a proud agency of the District of Columbia. Its mission is to provide District residents with financial benefits through the sale of lottery products and support of charitable organizations pursuant to gaming regulations. They are a vital component in aiding the city's economy, thereby benefiting all residents of the District of Columbia, as well as suburban commuters and tourists.

They support economic development and provide funds to support services such as education, recreation and parks, public safety, housing, and senior and child services. The DCLB is also the licensing agent for all Charitable Gaming in the District of Columbia.

The DCLB began its operations in 1982. Since then they have contributed over us$ 1.6 billion to good causes. In the fiscal year 2008, the Lottery generated revenue of us$  253.3 million, awarded its players us$ 135 million in prizes and transferred us$ 70.3 million to the city. They also helped local charities raise us$ 4.7 million in support of social causes.

Intralot also announced its D.C. partnership with Veteran Services Corporation of Washington D.C. Veteran Services Corporation, led by its CEO, Emmanuel A. Baileyand, its President of Gaming Division Rebecca Dirden Mattingly, who was the former Secretary of the Florida Lottery. “They will add value to this project by applying their intimate knowledge of the local market. Our state-of-the-art products and exceptional services combined with their local knowledge and resources will make significant contributions to the future success of the Lottery,” White affirmed.
