(Macau).- Gambling revenue in Macau rose about 70% in February from a year earlier, according to reports citing the Portuguese-language media group Lusa News Agency.

Gambling revenue totaled us$ 1.68 billion for the month, according reports citing preliminary figures from the city's six casino concessionaires and obtained by Lusa.

SJM Holdings remained the market leader with about a 32% share gambling revenue, followed by Sands China Ltd. with a 20% share, Wynn Macau Ltd. at 15% and Melco Crown Entertainment Ltd. at 14% of the market, according to the Lusa numbers.

Lusa often publishes monthly gambling statistics from the former Portuguese colony ahead of official government releases.
