PENN Entertainment has opened a new $100 million hotel tower at Hollywood Casino Columbus, marking the latest milestone in the casino operator's ongoing property expansion strategy.

The new 203-room hotel adds upscale accommodations to the Ohio gaming property and is expected to create about 150 jobs. The 150,000-square-foot tower includes 183 standard rooms, 20 luxury suites, The Hill Eatery & Lounge restaurant and bar, conference facilities, a fitness center, and an outdoor terrace.

PENN also plans to add an expanded high-limit table games room and a speakeasy bar at Hollywood Casino Columbus in the third quarter of 2026, pending regulatory approvals.

"We're delighted to officially open our new hotel in Columbus, which further positions us as the top entertainment destination in the region," Jay Snowden, Chief Executive Officer and President of PENN Entertainment, said in a statement.

The company held a grand opening ceremony featuring local dignitaries and guests. Celebrations included a procession led by The Ohio State University Alumni Band, a concert by Bret Michaels, a fireworks display and a giveaway offering guests a chance to win a 2026 Indian Motorcycle.

The Columbus hotel tower is the third of four previously announced development projects completed by PENN within the past year.

In 2025, the company opened a new land-based casino in Joliet, Illinois, and a hotel tower at M Resort Spa Casino in Las Vegas. PENN plans to open Hollywood Casino Aurora in Illinois on June 24, subject to regulatory approvals.

"This opening marks our third of four retail development projects to open in under a year, and we expect to follow this momentous day with the grand opening of our new casino in Aurora, Illinois, in less than two weeks," Snowden said.

The company is also pursuing another relocation project in Council Bluffs, Iowa, which is expected to open in 2028 pending regulatory approvals.
