Nevada casinos generated about $1.3 billion in gaming revenue in April, according to the Nevada Gaming Control Board, a year-over-year increase of around 5.3% but a decline from $1.43 billion in March.

Statewide gaming revenue rose from $1.23 billion to $1.29 billion, with nearly every Nevada jurisdiction reporting growth from April 2025. Downtown Las Vegas was the only market to post a decline, falling 0.62% to $83.4 million from $83.9 million a year earlier.

The Las Vegas Strip remained the largest contributor, recording $689.4 million in gaming revenue, up 6.6% from $646.8 million. The result was supported by baccarat, where revenue rose 15%. Excluding baccarat, the Strip’s increase was 4.8%.

Slot win on the Strip reached $407 million, a 5% increase from a year earlier, while table win rose 8.9% to $282 million. Slot handle was also up 5%, broadly similar to March, while table drop declined 4%. Baccarat drop fell 2%, although the Strip baccarat hold stood at 16.5%, compared with 14% in April 2025.

Clark County, which includes the Strip, downtown Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, the Boulder Strip, and surrounding areas, generated $1.1 billion, up 4.8% from the same month last year. Casinos serving Las Vegas locals recorded a 0.4% increase in gaming revenue to $280 million from $278.9 million, as slot revenue fell 1% and handle rose 27.8%.

North Las Vegas revenue increased 2.8% to $25.5 million from $24.8 million, while the Boulder Strip was nearly flat, rising 0.08% to $89.97 million from $89.90 million. Other southern Nevada markets reported stronger gains. Laughlin rose 16.9% to $46.9 million from $40.1 million, while Mesquite increased 4.1% to $18.6 million from $17.9 million.

In northern Nevada, Washoe County, which includes Reno, Sparks, and North Lake Tahoe, generated $97.3 million, up 12.7% year-over-year. Reno revenue increased 11.8% to $72.3 million from $64.6 million, while Sparks rose 20.2% to $15.2 million from $12.6 million. North Lake Tahoe increased 6.6% to $1.5 million from $1.4 million.

South Lake Tahoe generated about $18.4 million, an increase of about 10.5%. Elko County reported $33.6 million, up around 1.2%, while the Carson Valley Area generated about $12.2 million, up around 6.9%.

The state collected $78.4 million in percentage fees during the month, a 15.2% increase compared with the same period in 2025. The April figures come as the Las Vegas casino market faces a potential major transaction. Tilman Fertitta is set to buy Caesars Entertainment in a deal valued at around $17.6 billion.

Fertitta Entertainment, which owns Golden Nugget, Landry’s restaurants, and the NBA’s Houston Rockets, has offered $31 per share for Caesars, representing a 49% premium to Caesars’ closing share price on February 25, before the possibility of a deal was first reported.

Caesars’ board has unanimously approved the sale and urged shareholders to accept the offer. The company has until July 11 to consider alternative offers under a “go-shop” provision.
