FanDuel named first official iGaming partner of Toronto Tempo in multi-year deal

FanDuel has signed a multi-year deal with the WNBA's Toronto Tempo, becoming the team’s first official iGaming partner.

The agreement marks a commercial milestone for the newly established women’s professional basketball team, with the collaboration positioned as part of broader efforts to grow women’s sports in Canada.

The partnership will include fan engagement initiatives, in-arena branding, and digital activations. Fans will also gain access to exclusive content and interactive experiences through FanDuel’s platform.

Toronto Tempo Chief Revenue Officer Lisa Ferkul called the partnership “transformative.”

"Welcoming FanDuel marks a significant milestone for our organization as we continue to build Canada's first WNBA team and deepen fan engagement," Ferkul added.

FanDuel already has a strong footprint in Canada. In Ontario, the platform holds partnerships with major Toronto sports teams, including the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL), Toronto Raptors (NBA), Toronto FC (MLS), and Toronto Argonauts (CFL).

It has also expanded in women’s sports, becoming an official partner of the WNBA in 2022 and one of the first sportsbook partners of the Professional Women’s Hockey League across Canada and the U.S. in late 2024. FanDuel also became the first official sports betting partner of TSN, starting in Ontario, with further expansion across the province underway.

The Toronto Tempo will begin WNBA play in 2026 as one of two expansion teams, alongside the Portland Fire.
