Global Gaming Women (GGW) is launching a yearlong 10th anniversary celebration in 2026, reviewing a decade of education, mentorship, and professional development programs for women in gaming. The nonprofit is also introducing commemorative programming, merchandise, and more to honor the anniversary.
Launched in 2016 as an independent charitable organization, GGW reports more than 9,000 members across 70 countries. The nonprofit was established by the American Gaming Association to build a network connecting women working in multiple segments of the gaming industry.
GGW supports, inspires, and influences the development of women in the gaming industry. The organization brings together women from different gaming sectors with the aim of supporting professional and personal development. Its network allows female gaming professionals to learn from peers, build connections, and support emerging leaders.
During the past year, GGW provided more than $840,000 in educational scholarships. The organization also conducted 14 in-person training programs in locations around the world.
GGW reported growth in its peer-to-peer and professional mentorship initiatives, including Lean In Circles and OneUpOneDown.
Membership in the organization is free and open to individuals who support the global gaming sector.
“For the last ten years, Global Gaming Women has positively influenced the lives and careers of thousands of women in the gaming industry through education, mentorship, and training. As we celebrate GGW’s accomplishments and journey to its current state, we are laser-focused on scaling our reach and impact while developing the next generation of women in gaming,” said Siobhan Lane, GGW president and board chair.
“As a volunteer-driven organization, GGW sincerely thanks the thousands of members and allies who have given their time and talent over the years in support of GGW’s mission and values, and a special thanks to our sponsors for their financial support, without which, none of this would be possible.”
GGW outlined several activities scheduled during the anniversary year.
The organization is launching a commemorative series that presents moments and individuals connected to GGW’s history. The stories will appear through video interviews shared on LinkedIn.
GGW released a 10th anniversary logo together with branded merchandise. Items include sweatshirts, T-shirts, tote bags, and other products available through the organization’s anniversary store.
The organization will also produce content for the Fair Game podcast and host programming tied to the Global Gaming Expo (G2E). Activities during these events will reference the organization’s anniversary theme, “A Decade of Impact.”
