Allwyn and the McLaren F1 Team have introduced a life-sized “Scratch Car” in Las Vegas, a promotion that lets fans scratch 970 panels on a model F1 car or join an online version for a chance to win McLaren experiences, including a visit to the team’s UK technology center.

The model, unveiled at the LINQ Promenade on the Las Vegas Strip, was presented by McLaren F1 Team driver Oscar Piastri. Fans visiting the site can scratch any of the 970 panels for prizes connected to the team, with the installation open for two days, from November 18 through November 19.

“Being an Official Partner of the McLaren F1 Team enables us to bring the entertainment and excitement of the sport to even more people,” said Pavel Turek, Chief Officer Global Partnerships at Allwyn. “Our Scratch Car is just one of the ways we are helping fans across the world get closer to the F1 action, with the chance to win once-in-a-lifetime McLaren F1 Team prizes and experiences. We believe that taking a chance gives you one, and this world-first installation celebrates that spirit in a fun, creative way.”

Paper artist and motorsport enthusiast Florian Weber—known as Paperlegend—designed and built the model. The structure features 970 scratchable panels printed in the McLaren F1 Team’s papaya orange. According to Allwyn, the project required weeks of manual construction.

F1 drivers have to be incredibly precise but also willing to take chances, and that's what makes the Scratch Car such a perfect embodiment of the feeling of winning. It's a piece of art that celebrates both precision and the thrill of taking a chance,” said Weber.

Allwyn also released an online “Scratch Car” that mirrors the physical activity. Fans unable to reach Las Vegas can scratch a digital McLaren F1 car for the same prize categories. The online version remains available through November 25 on Allwyn Global’s Instagram page.

The top online prize offers a visit to the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, UK, including a meeting with a McLaren F1 Team driver and a signed race suit.

“At McLaren Racing, we are continually exploring new and unexpected ways of connecting with our fans in a fun and engaging way, and that's what our Scratch Car activation with Allwyn does,” said Louise McEwen, Chief Marketing Officer at McLaren Racing. “We can't wait for people to see it come to life, whether that's on the ground in Las Vegas or online.”

Allwyn operates lottery-led gaming businesses across Europe and North America. Its portfolio centers on innovation, technology, player safety, and contributions to public-benefit initiatives.
