The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has directed internet service providers to block new illegal online gambling websites found to be breaching the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.

The blocked sites are Crown Gold, Maxispin Casino, Rain.gg, Didibet, LuckyBet, Malina Casino, and Spins of Glory.

Since November 2019,
a total of 1,338 illegal gambling and affiliate websites have been restricted. Additionally, around 220 illegal services have voluntarily withdrawn from the Australian market since stricter regulations came into effect in 2017.

In the second quarter, the ACMA reviewed 292 of 330 enquiries and complaints, initiating 20 investigations into 24 websites. It issued 10 formal warnings and identified 73 sites in breach of the Interactive Gambling Act.

ACMA warned that illegal gambling sites often lack key consumer protections, putting players at risk of losing their money.

Australians can check if a wagering service is licensed on the ACMA register and find information on protecting themselves or reporting illegal sites on the ACMA website.
