California's Sky River Casino marked a new milestone in its expansion project, celebrating a ‘topping off’ ceremony to install the final precast concrete piece on the new parking garage.
The upgraded garage, along with a new valet service and porte cochere, will open with covered parking in early 2026.
“Once this phase is complete, it means the real work can start on the world-class resort that we’ve all been dreaming about," said Wilton Rancheria Vice-Chair Raquel Williams. "It’s an investment for our collective future that will bring prosperity to our tribal citizens, the Elk Grove community, and the Greater Sacramento region for generations to come as we create new jobs and opportunities.”
Wilton Rancheria, the only federally recognized tribe in Sacramento County, owns nearly 170 acres, including Sky River Casino and surrounding land, 77 acres of which are traditional Rancheria land now in federal trust.
Michael Facenda, President of Sky River Casino, called the ceremony a “powerful symbol of Wilton Rancheria’s resilience,” marking a historic moment for the tribe. He said that the expansion reflects the casino’s commitment to a brighter future for both the tribe and the surrounding community.
"Our expansion work is proceeding on track as planned," he said. "It’s rewarding to see the expansion come to life and hear the excitement from our guests who have been able to watch the progress in real time.”
The casino’s expansion includes a larger gaming floor, a high-limit room, and a 300-room hotel with spa, outdoor pool, and event spaces. A signature hotel atrium will provide sky views, reflecting the tribe’s connection to nature. Completion is expected in 2027.
Sky River currently employs 1,600 team members. The expansion will create additional jobs to support the new amenities.
