Alan Burak: "We had a great business atmosphere, with major regional operators and 100% of Paraguayan executives present"

"SAGSE Paraguay was a truly significant event for the industry throughout the region, and it far exceeded our expectations," said Alan Burak, Vice President of Monografie, the company responsible for SAGSE events internationally.

The executive gave a very positive assessment of the first two days of the event and promised that they would return to Paraguay next year to repeat the experience.

Talking about the success of the event, Burak said: "As you know, it was held in Ciudad del Este, a strategic location that offers a triple border between Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil.

"And in a way, this location reflected the spirit of the event, as we had the presence of the main Argentine operators, with Casino Club and the Boldt Group at the forefront, and we had high-level representatives from Brazil, Peru, Colombia, and Costa Rica, with names such as Solbet, Apostala, Betsson... And the most important point to highlight is that 100% of Paraguayan operators were present, demonstrating the weight and interest that this event generated locally."

"I believe that success was based on a combination of factors that we were able to balance correctly," Burak added.

"We had a great business atmosphere, with internationally renowned attendees; we had a great conference with topics of interest to the entire industry; Ciudad del Este also offers us a major tourist attraction with the Iguazu Falls; and networking was essential, as one of the main comments we received from operators was that the industry family was present, in an atmosphere of total friendship," he commented.

When expressing their gratitude, SAGSE authorities highlighted "the significant institutional support we have received, with the presence of the highest authorities of the National Tax Revenue Directorate of Paraguay (DNIT), in the person of its director, Óscar Orué, and the full support of Conajzar and APEJA, the only association with local representation of gaming operators."

Also present were the heads of Coljuegos from Colombia and APEJA from Mexico, as well as strong support from the private sector, with figures such as Jaime Esparza from Apostala and representatives from Casino Club and Betwarrior, part of the Boldt Group and bplay.

"As for the companies in the sector that joined us, I would like to highlight the sponsorship of Pragmatic Play, Evolution, Pay4Fun, GLI, and Zitro, in addition to the aforementioned Betsson and Apostala. All of them were present alongside names such as Konami, EGT, Merkur, Novomatic, IGT, Aristocrat, BMM TestLabs, DRGT, FIRST, Eeze, SoftSwiss, Atlantis, Betting Software, NetPampa, TotalCoin, Slot Line Cleaners, IGS, BYA Group, Coyote Play, Sielcon, CasinoGarage, and Casino Parts Machines & Parts."

On the number of attendees, Burak emphasized: "In terms of numbers, we can say that we had over 300 attendees at what we always consider a boutique event, so we had two days of full occupancy at the Hotel Casino Acaray and several surrounding hotels. But beyond having achieved a large turnout, I would like to highlight the importance of certain moments during these two days, such as the technical course, which was attended by around 50 professionals; the two sessions offered by international speaker Gustavo Adamovsky; and, once again, the Zitro Experience in Paraguay."

All of this led us to confirm, without hesitation, the date for SAGSE Paraguay 2026, which will be held in August next year at the same venue, the Hotel Casino Acaray. Once again, I would like to emphasize that it was an event characterized by genuine warmth, in which the conferences generated an enriching debate between the public and private sectors, focusing mainly on changes in the regulation of sports betting and the lottery, which sparked a spectacular debate."
