The 888 brand will reenter the Dutch online gambling market under a local license operated by ComeOn Group, marking a return nearly four years after the brand exited when local regulation took effect in October 2021.

Under the new agreement, ComeOn Group will operate the 888.nl website, offering online casino games and sports betting services to Dutch customers. The platform will include a portfolio of slot games, exclusive titles, live dealer tables, and betting options across multiple sports.

“888 is an incredibly strong global brand,” said Davide Marchisio, Director of Corporate Development at Evoke. “Partnering with a world-class operator gives us the opportunity to provide the amazing 888 experience to our Dutch fans.”

We are excited about launching 888 to Dutch customers and further expanding in regulated markets with a high-impact, low-capital partnership aligned to Evoke’s strategy,” he added.

ComeOn Group CEO Juergen Reutter considered Evoke as one of the biggest betting and gaming companies in the industry. “We are honoured to be entrusted with the operation of 888," he said. "Our proprietary technology, strong market expertise and commitment to responsible gaming will ensure that Dutch players enjoy a best-in-class experience with the 888 brand.”

888 had previously been active in the Netherlands prior to regulation. In October 2021, the company announced it would block Dutch players following the opening of the country’s regulated online gambling market.

At the time of its exit, 888 reported that Dutch operations represented approximately 3% of its overall revenue.

Since regulation began, multiple changes have been introduced to the Dutch gambling framework. These include tax increases on gross gaming revenue. The rate rose from 30.5% to 34.2% on January 1, 2025, and is scheduled to increase further to 37.8% in 2026.

Some operators have withdrawn from the market in response to these developments. LiveScore Bet, which was among the first ten licensed operators, confirmed its departure in November 2024. Tombola, a brand under Flutter Entertainment, has also exited the market.

Evoke announced the new agreement following a Q2 trading update. The company expects to report a 5% year-over-year increase in revenue for the quarter. The online segment recorded a 6% rise, while retail operations returned to growth.

For the first half of the year, group revenue is projected to be 3% higher compared to the same period last year.
