French hospitality giant Accor will debut in the Las Vegas market through a franchise agreement with businessman and casino owner Phil Ruffin, bringing the 2,884-room Treasure Island Hotel & Casino into its Handwritten Collection portfolio.
The move makes the property Accor’s largest hotel globally and its first in the Las Vegas market.
The agreement expands the group’s presence in North America, where Accor now has over 550 operating hotels. Treasure Island will become the second US property under the Handwritten Collection brand, following Hotel Stratford San Francisco.
“The city’s tagline is ‘What happens here, only happens here,’ and certainly there is no other place in the world where a collaboration of this scale and significance could come together,” said Camil Yazbeck, Global Chief Development Officer at Accor.
The hotel is scheduled to begin operations under the Accor network later this year.
Under the franchise agreement, Treasure Island will receive brand support from Handwritten Collection and access to Accor’s global services in sales, marketing, distribution, and loyalty. This includes integration into ALL Accor, a loyalty platform with more than 100 million members worldwide.
“Treasure Island has long held a special place in the story of Las Vegas, and I am certain that Accor and Handwritten Collection will further enrich its legacy and attract new generations of guests and visitors,” said Ruffin.
The hotel has recently been transformed by a multi-million-dollar refresh, which introduced new design elements while maintaining many of its signature features. These include free valet and self-parking, as well as a lobby overlooking a tropical pool, supported by self-check-in and 24-hour guest services.
Treasure Island offers 10 dining options and eight bar and lounge venues, such as Phil’s Steak House, Golden Circle Sports Bar, and Gilley’s Saloon, Dance Hall & Bar-B-Que. Amenities also include the Oleksandra Spa & Salon, event spaces, wedding chapels, and 90,000 sq. ft. of casino and gaming space
The property is connected to the Fashion Show Las Vegas mall, where Mystère by Cirque du Soleil has been performing for years.
Treasure Island joins more than 25 Handwritten Collection hotels currently operating and over 35 in the pipeline. The brand focuses on individualized properties with distinct design and guest narratives.
Guest rooms at the property offer views of the Las Vegas Strip, Sphere Las Vegas, and Spring Mountains, and feature SensaTIonal pillowtop beds, large soaking tubs or whirlpools, and marble finishes.
The hotel was recently awarded a Four Green Globe certification by the Green Building Initiative for improvements in energy and water efficiency, indoor environment, and resource use.
“The addition of Treasure Island – TI Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, Handwritten Collection is a milestone achievement, not only for our Handwritten Collection portfolio, but for Accor’s growing presence of exclusively selected properties in the US market,” said Thomas Dubaere, CEO PM&E, Accor Americas.
Accor operates more than 5,600 hotels and resorts across 110 countries under brands ranging from luxury to economy, including the ALL Accor loyalty platform.
