iGaming content provider Play’n GO has launched its latest mythology-based slot, Rise of Orpheus, drawing on the ancient Greek story of Orpheus and Eurydice. The release expands the company's catalog of narrative-driven titles rooted in classic myths.
The company describes Rise of Orpheus as an "emotionally charged slot." In the game, Orpheus ventures into the realm of shadows to reclaim his lost love on a journey backed by a variety of cinematic features and atmospheric visuals.
Rise of Orpheus features a combination of narrative elements and slot mechanics. The game includes the Reunion feature, which activates when the Orpheus and Eurydice symbols appear together. In this sequence, Orpheus crosses the reels to reach Eurydice, leaving Wilds behind and creating a merged symbol.
In tandem, Eurydice’s Multiplier grows with each of her appearances during Free Spins, upping the stakes. The slot also includes the Wrath of Cerberus Respin and a Wild Meter mechanic, which contribute additional layers to the gameplay.
Play’n GO connects these mechanics to the story's themes, presenting features that correspond with the myth's motifs of risk and pursuit.
“With Rise of Orpheus, we wanted to craft a slot that resonates emotionally as well as mechanically,” said Magnus Wallentin, Play’n GO’s Games Ambassador. “This is a love story wrapped in myth, with every feature reinforcing the journey of reunion and risk.”
Rise of Orpheus follows previous Play’n GO releases that incorporate Greek mythology, including player favorites Gates of Troy and Rise of Olympus. The title is also positioned alongside other narrative slots from the developer, such as Divine Showdown and Tales of Asgard: Freya’s Wedding.
The game’s progression system, structured through levels of the Underworld, takes a format similar to the developer’s House of Doom II. This design approach provides a tiered gameplay experience linked to the game's storyline.
Rise of Orpheus continues Play’n GO’s strategy of leveraging well-known cultural narratives within its slot offerings, aimed at engaging players through familiar stories combined with feature-driven gameplay.
